About Me

I’m 35 years old, and live in Wrexham, North Wales. I’ve been sailing since I was about 5 years old having started on a local pond called “Gresford Flash” sailing Oppies and Mirrors (great club!).

I’m a paramedic and A&E staff nurse by background, and now teach clinical skills & simulation to staff at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. However, for some years now, I have harboured an ambition to sail across the Atlantic Ocean and back singlehanded…

My great bosses have granted me a career break to undertake the attempt; I am now relaxing for a few days in Horta, Azores having safely made the second Atlantic crossing.The trip is sponsored in aid of a local hospice called Nightingale House, so if anyone feels like chipping in then please feel free at http://www.justgiving.com/Tom-Williams7 Cheers.

Tom – A quote c/o Major Wolfenden;

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
