the light at the end of the tunnel

Engine refit

August 15, 2012

Secret is still out of the water having her new engine fitted. The problem with older technology is just that “its older technology and is in need of updating”. There are not too many environments that are as harsh on parts as being around salt water.

It would seem that not all of the ancilaries will swap over from the old engine to the new. The starter motor and power steering pump are falling apart! Better to replace aging and unreliable parts in dry dock than out at sea though.

I have spent some time today on the Internet researching and ordering replacements.

The light at the end of the tunnel however is burning brightly and I’m sure it will not be long before we have a new and reliable engine that will enable us to turn up, fuel up and head out to play on the water.

I have this time not listened to my none naughtical friends - http://www.tompamarine.co.uk have offered best advice this time resulting in and end to long term problems.
