April 14, 2012

The marina is getting pretty full now and not many good spaces available, so it will be pot luck where we end up in the water.  I went to the office for our launching papers and was presented with a bill for 50 euros which was the cost for the marina yard men to ‘chock’ the boat up and release the cradle pads – what a rip off – they were only there 5 minutes.  They also charged us 2.44 euros for an extra day on the yard !   I was told we would be launched in the afternoon and went to look at the list near the launching dock, we were 7th on the list of 10.  I went back to the boat to tell Brian the news and Cemel came and said it would be about 4 p.m.  We had breakfast and shortly afterwards around 10 a.m. the marina yard men came to put the cradle pads back and said they were ready to take us.  It was raining and windy as forecast and the boat was left near the launching dock till around 12.15 p.m. before being put in the water.  Chris, Nigel and Anders helped and we were lucky enough to get a berth on Echo pontoon, a boat had just left to be lifted out of the water.  It is so good to be back in the water – we now have a working fridge and are very close to the toilet and shower block – hurray !
