Brian was up at 6.30 a.m. determined to fix the generator and sure enough, by 7.30 a.m. it was up and running – what a clever husband I have !

We departed from the anchorage at 7.45 a.m. with the water maker on and the batteries being charged up.  We sailed out towards the buoyed channel to the open sea. 

I take back what I said about Brian just now – what a f….. idiot he is – he was so busy sailing and trying to keep ahead of Nigel that he did not stick to the deep channel and all of a sudden, thud – we grounded !!!!  We had run aground onto rocks and could not motor off them.  Fortunately, a fisherman came by and we threw him a rope and he pulled us off from the stern – you can imagine the scene !!!!!!!  Brian will have to assess the damage when we get to Plomarian but so far all seems ok.   We went alongside the quay and Brian went in the water with mask and snorkel.  Minor damage, bent prop and chip out of the rudder – I can see Brian buying a new folding prop for next year !!!!!  Plomarion is a nice small town and by evening it was bustling with locals.  We found a very nice tavern and had kleftico (lamb cooked in the oven).
