Wandered around Rotterdam. A historic town which is unfortunately very hard to find (following the heavy bombardment during WWII), but what we did see was very interesting architecturally. We viewed Rotterdam from the tower – we were lucky with great visibility and could see for miles.

HI, where in Rotterdam are you staying, we keep our yacht over there. Am enjoying reading your blog about the canals. We are back out there on 08 August for just over 4 weeks

Hi We took the train from Dordrecht therefore cannot comment on any marinas etc in Rotterdam. We’ve had a wonderful time and wish we had more to explore the Netherlands. If you have any questions please ask. We’ve had some trouble using a prepaid mastercard and the local internet provider is a bit of an issue.

We use a pay as you go KPN Dongle thing for our internet however as you have found you can’t top it up with a credit/ debit card so we just top up in cash whenever we are passing one of their stores!! We have kept our boat in Holland for 3 years now. Like Rotterdam as a quick blast down the Maas and you are out to sea, with the choice North or south. Haven’t been up the canal system in this boat but we did in our previous one. I love the place, always friendly and very welcoming to our 8yr old. If you do visit R’dam by water can highly recommend City Marina.
