Bahamas Bound
Charleston
July 12, 2011
We are at the famous “MegaDock” in Charleston, the weather is killing us, it’s already 90F this morning at 8:50.
Anne and Hugues did the first watch from 10pm to 2am and a cushion went overboard and was lost in the sea. Christian tock over the following watch form 2am until 6am when Hugues woke up and both of them put up the sail. Later the rest if the crew woke up to see a red marker in the sea and to watch a dolphin jump over a big black turtle. Around noon the boat’s GPS shut down and broke. In the afternoon we saw so many jellyfishes that we gave up on counting them. They looked like big brown mushroom swimming around in the ocean. Later in the afternoon we had a show performed for us. There were about 8 dolphins swimming next to us, playing in the waves of the boat. In the late afternoon a dolphin came back, we all hurried to the front of the boat to see it but the Juliette’s hat flew away. We turned around to get it but it had already sunk, and sadly the dolphin had left too. It was only when it started to get dark that we reached the port. It was quite complicated to get to the dock and it took a while but we finally reached it. As soon as we got off we all hurried to the showers because we hadn’t washed in two days. After we all felt nice and clean we went to bed for it had been a long day.
