Silver Lady's 2011 sailing adventures

End of the Road

June 18, 2011

Well Finike market is worth the effort – its huge. We bought so much fruit and veg we had to do another trip for the groceries. On the second trip Neil insisted on more strawberries – Really you would think 3 kilos is too much for 2 people – but we managed to eat them!

On Sunday we took the dolmus to Myra (yes I know one pile of stones looks a lot like another- but it was a nice day out).

We are really glad we didn’t winter here last year – although the town grows on you I think we were better at Marmaris and Yat Marin is a better marina, nicer loos.

The wind in Finike blows EVERY day from 11am to 4pm.

We have debated going further and have decided against it. We are told Kemer is more expensive and that Antalya is even more and not that many anchorages – which we have come to enjoy. I would like to see Antalya – but perhaps that is a bus and hotel jaunt at some point.

So back to Kekova for some more lazy days swinging on anchor. Sadly Gokkaya continued to be noisy in the evening – such a shame for such a lovely place.
