Well, our landlady kindly let us break our lease early as Ian feels well enough to move back onboard. So, by Friday we will be back on Rebel although after today’s storm (one notch worse than a gale) we are not that sure we want to be back in the marina!
The storm that had been forecast for the past three days arrived in the night. What was unusual is that is was from the south, and this created a southerly swell which swept straight into the marina, bounced off the back wall and intensified. By the time we got to the marina at 9.30am two of our mooring lines had already snapped. Fortunately other marina dwellers were on hand to put extra lines on for us and saved Rebel from bashing into the boat next to her and causing untold damage to both vessels.
It is now 18.30 and the wind and sea condition seem to have settled, so lets hope the night is quiet.
