Hi Sue and Ron

Just to let you know I’m following your blogs!! Hope you enjoyed seeing Gibralter and of course your sister. Pleased to see that your moving along the Spanish coast. Have just finished the Invigilation on Tuesday – I was ready for ‘demob’. It’s been a long four week stretch of external and internal exams, right from Yr 7 to 9 plus Yr 9,10 & 11 sitting externals. Last w.end was the christening of James in Oxford, which turned out to be a lovely sunny day. The next christening is 21st Aug. of Harrison my Gt.Grandson which will be in Bodicote by where Liz lives. Love to both, take care. Sheila x

Hi,

Good to see that you’re back on the water. We hope you have a brilliant season.

Here, we are on the home straight. Exchange due this week and planned move out at the end of next. We are all packed and waiting to go. The caravan is ready for the off because we have not bought another house, though we are looking at one about 6 miles out of Porthmadog. We’ll see.

New boat waiting in the wings, we just need the cash in the bank and we should be afloat again within a month.

The plan for this year is fluid at the moment because we may need to be around to sort the house purchase. If we get it we will have a lot of work on, but we plan to take two or three winters over it and sail in the summer.

We don’t know where yet. but the Spanish Rias sound good for starters.

Anyway best of luck, we’ll keep our eye on your blog.

Mac & Julia.

House sale progressing. just over a month to go before we begin life in a caravan. Boat found, but not a simple transaction.. it may not happen so we just wait until cash is in the bank. Working hard at not being tempted into another house too soon. We want to be free of all that for a while. We are constantly busy packing stuff and throwing other stuff away….Quite cathartic (sp?) Anyway, things are certainly moving forward and it’s very exciting.

Last we heard you were antifouling. you should be well finished with that by now and enjoying the wind at sea——hope so.

Anne and Jim are in Madiera on the 1st leg of their journey home.

If all goes well, we will both be in Caernarfon marina over this winter. If you’re up that way give us a call. If we’ve got the cat we want, you can even stay overnight.

Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Mac & Julia.

Hi Ron & Sue, great to catch up with your doings in practically bankrupt Portugal. Having said the the UK is not doing so well, either. Looking forward to my mother’s 90th birthday. She is settled in Pocklington Place and is keeping well – v good for her age. Am driving her to London to celebrate. We were all concerned to hear about Uncle Mel’s stay in hospital with a kidney infection – but thank goodness he seems on the mend now. Hopefully, I can drop in to see him with Marion when I drive her to London on April16th (her birthday). Joanna has organised a celebratory lunch at a London restaurant by the river on Saturday. Jo has just bought a new dental surgery off Portman Square W1 and after building work she hopes to move in at end April. Glad you are enjoying life with walks, visits and preparation for the Summer cruising. We are cruising too early June, but in a large cruise ship – look out for us on the “Independence of the Seas” June 5 for 2 weeks.

All the best and keep fit and well. Brian

Hi Sue and Ron

Have managed to follow you since your leaving the home shores. I hope you are both enjoying your experience and have some great weather! We on dry land have had some really hot days… but have to keep inside because its so hot and humid not like being abroad. Yesterday it was the christening of my Great G. Daughter, Olivia Megan who is almost 6mths. she was a happy little soul all through the ceremony and was still enjoying the attention at 8.40 p.m. last night. My daughter held the gathering at her house after – there were 50 people that came (mainly policemen and their wives). On Sat.11th July I am flying down to Cornwall to spend some time with my son and family and am really looking forward to it. Harry has had a bad back for 2 weeks now and is only just beginning to feel better!! Will sign off for now as I have to go into Turves Green to get my photo signed by a current Teacher to send off for renewing my Driving Licence as I will be 70 in August. Lots of love to you both, always thinking of you.Sheila.xxx
