June 30, 2009

After an uncomfortable rolly night’s anchorage, we decided to head out to the Ile de Porquerolles and anchored in Plage de la Courtade.  The sea was crystal clear and we went ashore to explore the village and marina at Port Porquerolles.

Very hot today – we all went for a swim!  Chris and Lois decided to stay at La Capte for the day.

A ferry brings passengers from Hyeres and Toulon to the island frequently all day.  The waters around the island are a marine reserve and it is prohibited to fish and there is no camping or fires allowed.

The bay was filled with lots of yachts and small motor boats anchored – none of the super motor cruisers were here.
