Olowalu anchorage

July 25, 2008

After spending only one night at McGregor, we headed north to Coral Gardens.  We had heard the snorkeling rivalled Molokini, but upon arriving, we couldn’t find a sandy spot to drop our hook.  So we moved on to Olowalu.  We found a decent spot to drop our hook and enjoyed the anchorage very much.  Shore access was easy and there was a store nearby to replenish our ice.  The water was beautiful and we had a friendly turtle that kept us company.  For the first time, we deployed our home-made flopper stopper; it really helped reduce the boats motion.
