11-12APR2008 - Trip from NOB Marina to Smithfield, VA and back. This is the first weekend sailing trip for us as a family.
May 23, 2008: Cast off the lines and got underway… at promptly 1115. We didn’t get to the boat until about 0930, but then we realized that we forgot the salad and chili that Laura had slaved over the night before, so we sent her back home to get it. In the mean time, we got our propane tank filled-up and the galley sink unclogged. Barnacles had grown over the thru-hull fitting. » read more

May 23, 2008: Salt Ponds is a great little harbour. The only problem is that it’s full of Marinas and private docks. There are only a couple of good places to anchor, but luckily we were the only ones looking to ride the anchor tonight. » read more

September 02, 2008: We finally completed our sea trial today. It was great. We put up all three sails. Made 8.32 kts. We also did an engine test with the sails up and engine at 3900 rpm’s – running with the wind and made 10.12 knots! She is a sturdy and fast vessel.
