May 01, 2009: Saturday night was celebration time. The Bell’Avventuras took Corpus Christi by storm. After a quick cocktail with Steven the bartender at Landry’s, the restaurant on our dock (talk about being within drunk walking distance of your boat), we met friends Doug, Amanda, and Sarah at The Executive Surf club for food, beer, and some great live music. When the band was done, we hit the lo... » read more

Trip started in Keyport NJ. We went up to Block Island and Newport and then made our way back to Liberty Marina across from NYC.
May 01, 2009: We left Branford after a great night. We sailed to Manhasset Bay, the last harbor before the east river. We pulled up to the dock at Louie’s restaurant. It was a little formal after a whole day of sailing, but we sat outside on the deck. The food was great! It was dusk when we were done, but the tide was right and I have a lot of experience on the East River, so we decided to go back... » read more

June 04, 2010: Little Woody was great and we highly recommend him. He had great stories of the disasters on the reef (good for business) and celebrities that use his service (good for business). And he brought us a carrot cake and 6 johnny cakes that his wife makes (great for business)! The passage was uneventful and I stored the track on my chartplotter. Comparing it to the recommende... » read more

An end of the season overnight.
May 01, 2009: For an end of the season cruise, we sailed to Atlantic Highlands YC. We came into the harbor and got a great mooring (for free because of reciprocity). A lot of boats came in after us and had to take moorings far out in the harbor…we definitely got lucky! We took the dinghy in for dinner. We went to the yacht club for a couple of cocktails and then went to the harbor side grill. Afte... » read more

May 01, 2009: At 4:30 a.m. the alarm on the cell phone rang and we were off by 5:30. Breakfast, brushing and general beautification rituals were quickly accomplished as we were facing a trip of approximately 46 nm and a race that was moving west beginning about 9:00 a.m. We hit it perfectly and the boat was logged at 8.3 knots at one point. The race made up in part for the lack of wind.&nbs... » read more

July 07, 2010: Day 3 started early with an equipment malfunction. The most important peice of equipment failed! The coffee maker. We made due, but boiling some water and pouring it though a paper towel. mmmm good coffee. I hailed the pump out boat with no response. I hailed old port on the radio to ask when the pump out service starts, Tango was awake an on duty. Sarcasm at the ready. He said to call on ... » read more
