Sole Mates III Sails to Mystic, Conn.
This trip is part of the yearly Edgewood Yacht Club (which we are members of) Cruise and the part that Sole Mates III is participating in, this year.
May 01, 2009: At 4:30 a.m. the alarm on the cell phone rang and we were off by 5:30. Breakfast, brushing and general beautification rituals were quickly accomplished as we were facing a trip of approximately 46 nm and a race that was moving west beginning about 9:00 a.m. We hit it perfectly and the boat was logged at 8.3 knots at one point. Newport-Bermuda Race 2010
The crew of High Noon race from Newport, Rhode Island to Bermuda in the Atlantic ocean classic affectionately known as the "Bash to the Onion Patch".
June 29, 2010: The race is scored using two different scoring systems. The difference is in how the boats are compared with one another, which determines the “corrected time” which is used to level the playing field between all the different boats.
