We are having the exact same problem on our blog. Maybe trip sailor can solve that problem, as I can’t. Very frustrating.

No, it doesn’t seem to be sorted. The numbered ‘pins’ have not appeared on the last few entries and the last entry has now started back at ‘01’ and the route has returned to our start point – its a bit of a mess! It seems that sometimes the date of the entry is set at the date that the blog entry relates to but the date of the final blog on the site is the date when the entry was made (i.e a few days later) which seems to result in a strange route pattern.
We agree. The current waypoint system is a bit complicated. It was designed to allow multiple posts for one location being grouped together. This feature is rarely used. We are planning to get rid of the current waypoint system. That change will show each post with it’s own marker on the map.
As an alternative we want to enable the upload of GPX files from GPS devices. Tthe location for the posting could then be automatically determined by the entered time/date.
What do you think?
Sounds interesting. Let me know your progress. I will continue using the ‘pin drop’ system which seems to be working again.
Thanks

I have been using the blog for some weeks now (Parry’s sail to the Baltic) and I have some significant problems with the route mapping. If you type in a place name the lookup often does not work. Also if you move the ‘pin’ to the location it does not seem to always give he right location when you relook at the blog, it is often still place at the previous location and shows the last location name. Also the lat long seems to do the same thing or moves it to the wrong location. The only thing that seems to work is put in the lat long and move the cursor to the approximate place. It all seems a bit flakey.
We also have problems with double copies (or more) of pictures in the album even though only one is uploaded.
Any thoughts on what the problems are or more important how do you make it work consistantly. We still have 5 months to go and patience is wearing thin!
