My name is Anton Vandersteen. I live in the south of The Netherlands, in the province North Brabant. Sailing is my hobby for many years. I sailed myself in: – The Channel Islands, Brettagne and Normandy – Greece, the Poleponesos area – Scotish west coast, from Mallaig to Oban – Ireland, south coast from Cork to Bantry – West Caribean Islands, Martinique, St.Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines – Sweden, Danmark and north German coast, from Gothenborg, via Copenhagen to Rostock in Germany – North Sea crossings to and from IJmuiden(The Netherlands) to Lowsoft and Yarnmouth(UK), twice – The Wadden Sea Islands, In the north of the Netherlands, many times – Mile maker trip from Portsmouth(UK) to Amsterdam(The Netherlands), via Dover(UK), Ramsgate(UK), IJmuiden(The Netherlands). I am a certified RYADAY Skipper. In October of this year I have done the shorebased course for RYA Coastal skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore. In the summer of 2009 I hope to do the practical course RYA Coastal skipper. My specialties are passage planning, navigation on the road, pilotage and coaching of the crew. My motto is that a skipper you don’t have to be steering all the time. Just help people to enjoy the sport of sailing. And learn people the NON collision rules, who has to give way and how to signal that to the other vessels. My final aim is to get my commercial endorsement.
