Yellow Patch to Hummocky Island

September 06, 2008

We have had a great time at yellow Patch but Hummocky Island which we can see in the distance has been calling since we got here, so this morning we up anchored about two hours before the tide and headed for Hummocky. The weather has been fine and windless for the last few days, so we are hoping that the anchorage is not too rolly (which is the norm) in the swells. We heard from Chris last night, he is delivering a racing yacht back to Brisbane and we have arranged to meet here. After an hour and a half we are anchored in a spectacular little bay with high cliffs all around and hardly any swell is finding its’ way in. Bloody magnificent!!!!!! There is a great little beach under the cliffs and Pip has a great time exploring it. We all get together , new friends and old and have a great night with music and lots of laughs. Chris and John depart after breaky the next day, but we decide to have another night in this scenic spot.
