After signing and documenting the purchase of the boat and dropping off Broker Nick back on shore I headed out to open water and set a course for Mexico. Leaving San Pedro California passing downtown Long Beach and Newport Beach.

Well after motoring (decided not to sail due to extreme fog) 22 hours later, I arrived in Ensenada Mexico. Checked in with port authorities and went off to establish a slip location for my boat’s new home.

I found a slip for Joyful Path in a marina called, Puerto Salina Marina. I plan on staying here probably until I can go cruising in ~2015.

Well I’ve had Joyful Path in her home port, Puerto Salina Marina, for over a year now. I go down to customize, upgrade, maintain and occasionally go sailing as often as I can. This newer marina provides excellent amenities; accessibility, security and affordability. The environment is perfect for my home away from home.

Due to increasing slip costs in Mexico and increased availablity of slips in Los Angeles, I decided to move The Path back to So Cal. I went down May 17th to prep her for the voyage up, with all systems checked out and exit paperwork complete, I pushed off May 19th bound for San Deigo’s Shelter Island. The seas and wind were against me so some 13 hours later I was tying off at Shelter Island’s Harbor Police Dock and awaited the arrival of the Customs Officer.

With improved conditions by the 24th I pressed on from San Diego to Catalina Island, Avalon Harbor.

On the morning of the 25th I made the channel crossing to LA Harbor. This will be The Path’s locale until I am able to continue on.
