Port Fitzroy
February 22, 2007
For today we planned to reach Port Fitzroy Harbour ond the Great barrier Island, so we left Oneroa already at 0700h.
The SW winds where constant 15-20 – perfect for heading to the Great Barrier Island.
From Oneroa to Great Barrier Island – we sailed a total distance of nearly 43 n-miles in about 9 hours. It was 1630 so we had plenty of time for fishing. But unfortunaetly we only caught a couple of small snapper….. well, we had dinner in at the Boat Club Tavern – really can recommend that!!!
Port Fitzroy is an amazing natural harbour with a huge choice of unspoilt anchorages around.
