A visit to the Blue Lagoon

May 13, 2008

We motored back through Gaios and deposited David back onto his own boat. Well he had asked for a day of more interesting sailing!

Now the other crews might realise why Gary and I brought our own life-jackets with rather than use the bulky foam ones and seperate safety harnesses that the charter company provide.

Gary is sure that was the roughest sea he had been out in. Probably was, I suppose, he has had higher winds in the Solent but it hadn’t had so much fetch for the sea to build up.

We adjorn to our favourite taverna in the village "The Blue Lagoon" just off the quay abut a hundred metres south of the town square for a meal.

Up early the next morning and a walk up into the hills behind the village then back down to the ferry port at the north entrance. Northerly wind still and quite blowey for the time of year , and the harbour seems full of little jellyfish.

Watched the hydrofoil ferry, one of the Flying Dolphins that the Greeks bought from Russia, depart. Ah ha flashing yellow light on the mast, yep non displacement vessel.
