Hilo to Honolulu

Departure Hilo

Destination: La Perouse Bay, Maui. 110 miles to go.  Hilo cried when we were preparing to weigh anchor – huge downpour.  In between the rain, we weighed anchor at noon and headed out the pass.  We proceeded to sail around the windward side of the island and enjoyed the spectacular scenery – lush valleys and forests.  We had a fair wind and sailed wing and wing.
