Day 1-Leaving Ft. Lauderdale
July 12, 2008
We left Ft. Lauderdale at about 8am after refueling-low winds, and motor-sailing at about 5knots. After 3 hours we had a strikem and caught a beautiful 4-5lb Bonita, whcih I fileted and Bob & Jacqui cooked for lunch. Winds picked up and we were sailing 8-10 knots the rest of the way – arrived in West Palm Beach SailFish Marina at about 4:30 expensive but not many to choose from – we all had a great day’s sail! Jacqui and Barry gave us great instruction in sailing Santana, and we now have 2 pretty wel-trained crew aboard, thanks to them. All of us a pretty weel sunburnt. Barry and Jacqui were sad to bid farewell to their beloved Yacht for the last time.
