Erie Canal Overview

The Erie Canal system is a very interesting engineering project and if you would like to see how the locks bring the boats to the various levels of the lakes etc here is a great diagram.  I never once thought about how the lakes are on different levels but once you see this diagram you will understand why it is all necessary unless you want to go over a waterfall!!!
