Parry's Sail To the Baltic
Hanko
July 17, 2008
Made coffee for Barry and his friends this morning, all members of the cruising assocation! They sail every year in the Baltic and leave their boats here. We had a good British chin wag and then headed back to the boat and set sail for Hanko, our last stop in Finland….....so perhaps Finland (heading at the beginning of our blog) is now officially AND Finland!
Pretty grotty grey day for sailing but at least the wind was okay! It was a bit of ‘around the Lizard’ kind of a route into Hanko as we decided not to take the short cut route on the chart as this was labelled 2.4 lowest depth! The Finnish charts are marvellous as they give the routes you need to go (do not go off the track…...tooo many rocks!) and the lowest depth along that particiular part of the route…...sailing by numbers!
By mid afternoon in Hanko it was sunny again and so we headed out for a walk into ‘town’....the one horse type!
Our last evening in Finland was spent out to dinner with Suzie Too as they were heading on towards Helsinki, we are now off to Tallinn, ESTONIA!!!!! Its only taken me 5 years to get here…..with only 65miles to go!!!
