Parry's Sail To the Baltic
Ystad to Utklippan Island
June 07, 2008
With me completely shattered due to lack of sleep Steve sailed the boat with Hollie to Utklippan. The previous night, Friday the flight had been delayed out of Amsterdam back into Copenhagen and so I missed the last train from Malmo to Ystad. This meant that when I arrived at the airport at nearly 2am I had to wait to catch the 4.16 to Malmo. So like a real traveller I found a comfy seat outside burger king and put my head down. Got the train but had to wait another hour at Malmo station for the connecting train and I got told off for lying down on the seat in the waiting room by a policeman so didn’t get any sleep there! Arrived back on the boat at 6.45am!
The 80m trip to Utklippan took all day, we set of at 9.30am and arrived at 8pm, well done Steve!! The place is basically a few rocks 12m south of Karskrona. Not much there other than a harbour which was originally built for fishing boats. It’s not very high and the sea was glassy so it was weird heading for it, an Anegarda type moment….is it there or not!
Moored alongside the wall! Great place!!!! Weather looking good for tomorrow too!!! Fantastic place for a swim!
