Parry's Sail To the Baltic
Snaptun and Hjarno Island
May 18, 2008
Left Vejle at 10am (Suzie Too had made a dash for it much earlier) and headed out of the 15mile in length Fjord. Its a long way in and out of these places!!
Decided to have a lazy day after the excitment of Legoland and anchor in Sandvig a bay at the mouth of the Fjord sheltered from the very cold Northerly wind…still no rain though. Got there dropped the hook and then started to make Hollies new lego house. The wind then decided to turn Southerly and so we we now on a lee shore and bobbing about! Moved around the coner to the next bay and it wasn’t much better there either!
Looked at the chart and the guide book and decided to head up the coast to the ‘tiny port of Snaptun’ which looks over to the Island of Hjarno. We weren’t sure whether we would be able to fit in to it and so poked our nose in and found an alongside pontoon just for us! Some things are just meant to be! A lovely little spot with a cafe and shop at the end of the pontoon underneath a great saling clubhouse with great views of Hjarno Island.
