Big trip today!!! Took all of an hour to motor across to Monnickendam from Marken! Well worth the trip though a great little town.  Moored for a short stay conveniently near a wine merchants and so stocked up the boat with lovely wine…lets just hope we can make it last for when it gets very pricey in Sweden etc. Although I must say Holland is now very expensive…the euro pound exchange rate is a joke, the prices are still linked to about 1.7 instead of 1.2!  Just as an example a kids macdonalds (Hollie has one in Amsterdam, needs must!) was 4.15 euros which is £3.45 in good british pounds….down Gosport High Street it costs £1.99!!!

Enough of that life is good!  Had a wander around the town, coffee stop and then moved onto Volendam.  Very touristy town but had charm….its Friday night and so had a lager and a fruit based drink for the ladies!
