Parry's Sail To the Baltic
Zerikzee to Willemstad
April 16, 2008
Got up this morning at 7.30am and it was freezing cold! Filled up with fuel and headed out to get the 9.20am bridge lift. Then motored up the Keeten and the Krammersluisen lock 13 miles away and had to wait nearly an hour to get in the lock. David had a bit of a crisis when his warp got caught on the danbuoy and he had to use his rather large knife to cut it and allow Suzie Too to drop in the lock. Good skills Tarzan…or was it crocodile dundee! We then motored to Volkeraksluizen Lock and had to wait over an hour again to get under the bridge and into the next lock….with lots of very long barges! Finally arrived in Willemstad at 4pm, moored at the town quay and headed straight for the bar! Covered 26 miles today.
Had a rather nice coq au vin for dinner! Now need an early night…..after episode 3 of Howards Way of course…. on Suzie Too tonight! The girls have bedded down to watch Life on Mars…..Hollie is watching High School Musical….what does this say about the generations?????!!!!

Hi Don, Carly
We did have a bit of snow (3”) on the boat before we left and delayed our departure by a couple of days. We have been very lucky with the weathr, cold but mostly blue skies and hardly any rain since we left. I have been cheating with the waypoint’s and just putting in the place name and the blog gives you a position in the town – I will try to put the lat/long in!!
Holland is great we have been tucking into town quays – currently in Gouda – and of course at this time of year you can just put out the fender-board and moor up – its great.
Thanks for your interest. Will try to keep up blog as wi-fi permits.
Don you might be interested to now that we fitted an external Digital Yacht wi-fi aerial (from Cactus) before we left – USB link to laptop. When in town areas we have almost always found an unencrypted hub and got a link.
Best wishes to you both

Hi,
Now you know why we rave about the Netherlands.
Sorry you missed making snowmen.
Regards to Suzie Too, too.
BTW Waypoint No 18 – Willemstadt shows as in the middle of a farm.
Last time I was there it was 51° 41.660N x 4° 26.451E.
Lovely place wherever it is.
We are all keeping tabs on you.
